USC Trojan’s take Third place at the Fall District Champs!

This past weekend UC Santa Barbara hosted the 2015 PCCSC  Fall Pacific Coast Championships.  A 3 division regatta with no wind and no races sailed on Saturday, then a little of everything on Sunday including wind and some rain!] Our Trojans sailed very well to finish on the podium in third place! Trojan’s finish 2nd at Stoney Burke!!

The Trojan’s had a hard fought battle at the Stoney Burke Regatta hosted this past weekend by Cal at Treasure Island is San Francisco.  After leading for most of the event it came down the the last final races where we ended on the podium in 2nd place!!  Great sailing by the Trojans, Fight on!! Trojan’s take the Triton Open with a dominating 1st and 3rd performance!!

The USC Team sailed the Triton Open down at Mission Bay Yacht this weekend and came away with the victory!! Sailing Varsity A division was Matt Hecht with Hope Modugno who took  all first places in the 9 races sailed!  In B division was the team of John Coakley with Melissa Schem winning 6 of the 9 races sailed.  These scores gave USC a 23 point victory!! Trojan’s place 3rd at Dinghy and Team Race PCC’s!!!

The team traveled up to Stanford for our conference Pacific Coast Championship where 16 team battles for qualifying spots to the Semi-Finals and hopefully National’s taking place in Newport, Rhode Island.  USC came away with third place in each Championship and qualified for the Coed Dinghy Semi’s.  That means the team will be headed back East June 1-5th to show our best.  Wish the team luck!!! April 5-6, 2014: USC’s Varsity Women’s team travelled to Santa Barbara to sail the Women’s Pacific Coast Championships (PCCs) hosted by UC Santa Barbara. USC placed 5th overall out of 12 teams. March 7-9, 2014: Los Angeles Yacht Club, along with the California Maritime Academy, hosted the annual Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup Invitational. Sailed in Catalina 37s, this 3-day regatta is one of the most competitive and prestigious collegiate off-shore sailing events in the country. November 2013: The USC Varsity Sailing Team, with over 6 decades worth of alumni, was honored on the field during the UCLA football game at the Coliseum. Trojans finish 8th at Harbor Cup

9th at McIntyre Team Race

The Trojans traveled to Redwood City, CA to compete in the annual McIntyre Team Race Regatta.  Saturday saw very light winds for most of the day.  Sunday had bigger shifts in the breeze, but was also quite light.  This was the first team race regatta for many members of our team, but we saw continuous improvement throughout the event!  Congrats to the entire team for a solid weekend of sailing [&hellip
