4th at Team Race PCC’s

The team travelled to Stanford for the Carter Ford Team Race, which serves as the PCCSC Team Race Championship and the qualifier for the ICSA Team Race Nationals. Racing started early in 10-12 knots of breeze. The Trojans had a tough first round robin, with losses to Stanford, Hawaii, and UC Santa Barbara. As the day went on, and the breeze picked up to 15 knots, the Trojans came back in the second round robin to beat Hawaii and move on to the final four along with Stanford, Hawaii, and UC Santa Barbara.Â
In the final four, the Trojans rallied to beat Santa Barbara, but lost to Hawaii and Stanford; which led to sail-off for third place between the Trojans and the Hawaii Rainbows. The team of Max Hutchenson/Alexis Tarakjian, Kelsey Rupp/Erik Samuels, and Mallory Schluter/Olivia Gebelein lost a close race to end the regatta in fourth place. The team now turns their attention to the PCCSC Co-Ed Championship in Santa Barbara, April 28-29.
